This study aimed to gather information on the knowledge, attitudes, and pedagogical practices of future Portuguese teachers regarding the approach to Portuguese as a pluricentric language in the second cycle of basic education. To this end, a structured questionnaire was applied to a sample of students in initial teacher training, that is, second-year students of the Master's degree in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and in Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, who are completing their initial training to teach Portuguese in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. The analysis of the collected responses allows us to identify relevant trends in the knowledge, attitudes, and pedagogical practices of future Portuguese teachers with respect to teaching Portuguese as a pluricentric language in the second cycle of basic education.
