ABSTRACT
Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), coupled with processing power and data availability, are rapidly transforming clinical practice, biomedical research, and hospital management. Therefore, it is essential that healthcare professionals acquire new skills to interact with these tools effectively, ethically, and safely. The purpose of this paper is to describe the design and development of a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare offered by the Faculties of Health and Engineering at Universidad del Valle (Colombia), as well as to evaluate the initial implementation of this training program. The educational design was based on the TPACK technopedagogical model and the Problem-Based Learning methodology. The experience was evaluated using a multidimensional questionnaire that measured the organizational, pedagogical, technological, and communicational perceptions of the diploma program. The results indicated high satisfaction, highlighting the relevance of the content, the quality of instruction, and the achievement of objectives. Opportunities for improvement focus on strengthening technical skills and developing real-world applications to reduce the digital divide among participants.
